How we research portable monitors

This page explains where the information on PortableMonitor comes from and what you can and cannot rely on.

Sources

  • Manufacturer and Amazon.in listings for specifications such as size, resolution, panel type, refresh rate, brightness, ports and weight.
  • Owner reviews and ratings on Amazon.in for common praise and complaints, which we summarise as pros and cons.
  • Amazon.in prices, refreshed regularly. Prices and availability change often, so always check the live price on Amazon before you buy.

How we choose what to recommend

Recommendations follow from the data: price, size, weight, panel type, ports, rating and the cons that owners report. When a monitor is the cheapest, the lightest or the only one with a feature, we say so, and we say what it gives up in exchange.

What we do not claim

  • We do not claim to have bought and lab-tested every monitor. Our guides are based on specifications, listings and owner feedback, and say so.
  • If a specification is missing or contradictory in a listing, we say it is unconfirmed and suggest you check the listing.
  • Calculated values, such as pixel density, are labelled as calculations.
